Katalyst Brewing is located in the historic Granary Building (13D Taylor Road) in downtown Bracebridge, near the intersection of Taylor Rd and Manitoba St. Once home to Muskoka Brewing from 1994 to 2012, Katalyst is once again bringing beer back to this historic landmark, occupying 2,500 of the 20,000 square feet. We are brewing on a 10hl (1000 litre) system into 6 fermenters and the space includes a taproom to enjoy beverages in house and a bottle shop to take beer to go. The building is also shared with several other business and restaurants including Sully’s Muskoka. Come by and say hi, and see what we have brewing!
The Facility
Mark
Founder
Mark is our fearless leader and jack of all trades. He and his wife Krystal started Katalyst Brewing in 2016 after Mark got into craft beer and took a hobby way too far! Mark is constantly trying to create new and interesting recipes, while maintaining a stock of classics, including smoked porters, pilsners, and a variety of lagers, while experimenting with sour and barrel-aged beers.
Krystal
Founder
Krystal founded Katalyst with Mark in 2016. She keeps the ship sailing in the right direction while making sure we have fun along the way. Krystal’s hands are full managing marketing and social media, and making sure the brewery isn’t ugly. Serving as the voice of reason, Krystal also has the role of keeping Mark in check by shutting down any of his ideas that are silly and make no sense (they’re not all bad).
Apollo
Brand Ambassador
Resident brewery dog and mascot, Apollo, is a rescue that arrived in June 2018 from Nashville and has been stealing hearts ever since. You will see him around the brewery when he’s not too busy eating sticks, laying in the sun or taking up all the space on the couch. You can follow his adventures on Instagram @katalystapollo. He looks forward to welcoming all sorts of doggo friends!
